Kelly Buchanan is a graduate of the Berklee College of Music and a music industry veteran. She toured nationally as an indie-rock singer-songwriter, released 5 records, gained national distribution for her records and reached the top 20 on the CMJ charts (college and AAA radio stations). Her recordings were featured on MTV, A&E, the CW and other networks and her songs have been performed by grammy nominees Sarah Bareilles and Fountains of Wayne, as well as Glen Phillips (Toad the Wet Sprocket), Nada Surf, Vertical Horizon, and others. She is a former instructor at The New York City Guitar School and coached the inaugural year of Willie Mae Rock Camp for Girls.
A Hershey native, Ms. Buchanan returned to the area and began teaching locally in 2012. She offers lessons to students of all ages under the Buchanan Studio of Music umbrella. She teaches privately in Lancaster and in Hershey, at Lancaster Country Day School, at the New School Montessori and also online/virtually. She helps students learn the music they like while guiding them to their goals, and enriches the musical experience through informal group jams, band sessions, and performance opportunities.
